Henry Ray Johnson, 67, of Stanley, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.
He was born August 23, 1950, in Gaston County, son of the late Edgar Woodrow Johnson and Ethel Jenkins Johnson.
Henry retired from Clariant and Fluor Daniels with over 20 years of service. He loved to work on lawn mowers, ride motorcycles, go camping, and bird watching.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Johnson.
Left to cherish his memories are his son, Chris Johnson; former wife, Sandra Johnson West; brother, Eddie Johnson and wife, Linda; sister, Diane Messer; special mother-in-law, Pearl Champion; nephews, E.J. Johnson, Joshua Johnson, Rick Messer, Jason Miller; and nieces, Donna Mullins, Sharon Messer, and Lindsey Miller; and sister-in-law, Patti Miller.
A graveside service will be held 2:30pm on Monday, at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
The family will receive friends 12 (Noon) – 1:30pm on Monday, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd. Gastonia.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
