Henry O'Neil Lingerfelt

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Henry "Oneil" Lingerfelt, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. Oneil, who touched countless lives with his joyful spirit, was born on November 28, 1944, in Clover, South Carolina. He departed this world on September 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth.

Family was at the heart of Oneil's world. He was especially fond of his favorite granddaughter, known as "Tooterpoot," and his playful spirit brought joy to all those fortunate enough to be part of his life. He was a proud veteran who served his country in Vietnam.

The visitation will be held Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 1:00 pm- 2:00 pm at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont, NC.

Oneil is survived by his children, Allen Oneil Lingerfelt, Kathy Jo Poovey (Tracy), Frank Clay Lingerfelt; grandchildren, Tammy Flowers (Jeff), Kayleigh Lingerfelt (Devin Brown), Paige Lingerfelt, Bristan Flores (David), Melissa Korn (Scotty), Kayla Hester (Brandon), Donna "Tooterpoot" Poovey; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Gail McPeters, Judy Welch; numerous nieces and nephews; close friend, "Firestone".

Oneil was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Vivian Lingerfelt; brothers, AC, James, Cecil and Larry Lingerfelt; sister, Audrey Pullen.
