Henry David Cathey Jr.

Henry David Cathey, Jr., 79, of Gastonia, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at his home.
He was born October 17, 1940, in Andrews, son of the late Henry D. Cathey, Sr. and Sarah Calhoun Cathey.
Henry was a US Navy Veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Brittan and brother-in-law, Richard Brittan.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 60 years, Janice Queen Cathey; children, Michael Cathey, Lynn Edmondson and husband, Chuck, Tracy Smith and husband, John; grandchildren, Whitney Graf, Daniel Cuthbertson, Taylor Wright, Mackenzie Hamrick, Sidney Wright, Charlie Edmondson; and great grandchildren, Bailey Graf, Wyatt Graf, and Finley Wright.
A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm on Sunday at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. Rev. Chuck Edmondson will be officiating.
The family will receive friends 1:30-2:30 pm on Sunday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia.
