Henry Milton Allen Jr., a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend of Bessemer City, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025. Born on January 31, 1944, Henry lived a life rich in love, laughter, and hard work, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by his family and friends.
Henry dedicated many years to the printing industry, where his meticulous attention to detail and steadfast work ethic earned him respect among his peers. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life and enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. Outside of his professional life, Henry found great joy in woodworking, where he expressed his artistry and created cherished pieces that will be remembered by those who loved him.
An avid golfer, he also cherished moments spent on the golf course, where he formed many lasting friendships and unforgettable memories. He enjoyed just relaxing and watching his western tv shows and movies.
He was a dedicated beloved church member of Ridge Baptist where he served as a deacon and sang in the church choir. His warm spirit and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him
Henry is survived by his devoted son, Steven Allen, and his beloved daughter-in-law, Annette Allen. He was a proud grandfather to granddaughter, Abigale Allen and honorary daughter, Amy Brandon, who brought him immense joy and pride. His brother, Robert "Bob" Allen and wife Nancy; his sisters, Millie Martin and husband Kenneth, Ella Schwartz, Rose Marie Harrison, and Deborah King and husband Chuck; numerous nieces and nephews.
Henry was preceded in death by: his parents Henry Allen Sr. and Desmer Rogers Allen; his beloved wife, Mary Reep Allen; sister Barbara Caldwell.
The visitation be from 10-11 am with the funeral service following at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Ridge Baptist Church 3813 Old York Road Gastonia. Following the service, Henry will be laid to rest at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Friends and family are encouraged to come and share their memories, reflecting on the profound impact Henry had on all their lives.
In this time of sorrow, let us celebrate the life of Henry Milton Allen Jr., a man who touched many hearts and forever changed the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will live on in the countless memories etched in our hearts.
