Helen Jean Waters

Helen Jean Waters, 76, of Gastonia, passed away on March 4, 2018, at her home.

She was born June 17, 1941, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Jake Edward Black and Sadie Bell Black.

Mrs. Waters was a member of the Clover Church of the Nazarene.

She was a beautician for over 50 years and had attended American Academy Cosmetology school.

She loved arranging flowers for friends, family and her church.

A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Brett Boykin.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.

Mrs. Waters is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, James Waters; sons, Mike Lee Heavener, Dwayne Waters and wife, Glenda, Michael Waters; daughters, Cathy Heavener, Lori Splawn and husband, David; brothers, Roland Black and wife, Faye, Jake Black; sister, Glenda Justice and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Chase Peterson, Blake Splawn, Brittany Sisk, Lauren Thornburg, Krystal Proctor; three great-grandchildren; her beloved fur baby Scooter.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia .
