Mrs. Helen Cox Rector

Mrs. Helen Cox Rector, 82, died Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was a native of Horry County, SC, daughter of the late Tallie and Martha Cox. Helen retired from Burlington Industries Flint Plant and attended Gospel Light Holiness Church in Gastonia. Survivors include daughters, Debbie Wilson, Gloria Leonard and Shelia Wilson; brother, Archie (Buddy) Cox; sisters, Martha (Lila) Purkey and Doris Fowler; twelve grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas and Junior; sisters, Louise and Lois; and son, Billy. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Jerry Willard. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
