Helen Ramsey

Helen Lois Christenbury Ramsey, 89, of Gastonia, passed away at home on Friday, May 1, 2020.

She was born February 14, 1931, in York Co., SC, daughter of the late Eddie Lee Christenbury and Lois Robinson Crump.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Ramsey; brothers, Bobby Lee, Junior, Donald, and Bill Christenbury; and sister, Virginia Mosley.

Helen was a member of New Beginnings Church of God with Rev. Ronnie Simmons; and a former member of South Gastonia Church of God.

She loved to go to church and listen to gospel music.

She also enjoyed working in her garden.

Left to cherish her memories are her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Judy Ramsey; daughter, Carolyn Ramsey; brother, Charles Christenbury; sisters, Nancy Worthey, Judy Crain, Gaynelle Woody, Madge Balew, and Dale Howell; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ramsey will lie in state from 1 until 4 pm Tuesday, May 5, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service,1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will hold a private graveside service.
