Helen Dodgen Padgett

Helen Dodgen Padgett, 87, of Gastonia, went to be with the Lord October 15, 2017 at her residence.
She was born April 25, 1930 in Lincoln County, the daughter of the late James Earl Dodgen and Maggie Lilma Ranson Dodgen.
Helen was a member of Ridge Baptist Church in Gastonia. She was employed with Wix Corporation for 35 years. Special thanks to Kelsey Best who gave up her summer to be a caregiver for her MawMaw Helen. She loved you and Kailey very much.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Patricia "Pat" Best and husband, Tommy; loving brother, Jerry Dodgen; granddaughter Gina Moose and husband Marvin; grandson, Brad Best and wife Mandy; great-grandchildren Kelsey and Kailey Best and Katie and Mikaela Moose; sisters in Christ, Rene' Morris and Dot Pruitt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Gene Padgett and sisters, Thelma Self and Roberta Duncan.
A graveside service, officiated by the Rev. Chester Waters, will be held 1:30 pm Thursday at Gaston Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 11:30 – 12:45 pm prior to the service at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ridge Baptist Church, 3818 Old York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28056 or Catawba Regional Hospice 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
