Helen Massey Mauney

Helen Massey Mauney, 90, of Gastonia, passed away April 30, 2018 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas.

She was born September 25, 1927 in Banks County, Georgia, the daughter of the late William Howard Massey Sr. and Minnie Mae Rucker Massey.

Helen was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Gastonia.  She retired from Firestone as a spinner after 28 years of service.

She is survived by her son, Gary Mauney; brother, James Massey and wife Maxine; nieces, Lisa and Barbara and other loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Mauney; two brothers and one sister.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Temple Baptist Church, 701 Littlejohn Street, Gastonia, with Pastor Scott Whitener officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Entombment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice (The Robin Johnson House) PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
