Helen Gertrude Maccaffray

Helen MacCaffray went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 9, 2023.

She was born November 14, 1918, in Boston Massachusetts, to the late Alexander and Bessie Chapski.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Stuart A. MacCaffray; and son, Stuart, Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Carole Keller (Glen), and Nancy Church (Ron); grandchildren, Caffray Keller, Cristine Williams (Christopher), Jeffrey Church (Brandy), Amy Fronczkiewicz (PJ), Sean MacCaffray (Mary), Patrick MacCaffray (Michael Gamble), Christopher Gross (Angela); great grandchildren, Geoffrey and Henry Church, Ada and Maizy Fronczkiewicz, Reagan MacCaffray, Devon Earwood, Danica Williams, Madison and Katelyn Gross.

Her greatest love was caring for her children and grandchildren. She loved the Lord and attributed her long life to his love and care. She was generous beyond measure to all her family and friends. She cared for all of her grandchildren throughout their lives. She also fostered children for many years. Helen catered weddings, church suppers for church members, participated in the flower ministry, church choir, church nursery, living a lifetime of devotion doing the Lord's work. She was so grateful for all the Lord's blessings bestowed on her, including most recently the care she received at Terrace Ridge Assisted Living by all of her caregivers.

A celebration of life service officiated by Pastor Bruce Jones, will be held 2pm, Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Hospice and Palliative Care of Lincoln County – 900 Donita Drive, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

She will always be the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory that no one can steal.
