Helen Jewel Cunningham Conner

Helen Jewel Cunningham Conner, 81, of Gastonia, passed away July 26, 2015, at her home. She was born November 8, 1933, in Rutherford County, daughter of the late Louis Cunningham and Lela Peeler Cunningham Dixon. Helen was a member of Ridge Baptist Church of Gastonia, where she was a former church secretary, Sunday school teacher and involved in W.M.U., GA's and VBS. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers. Left to cherish her memories are her loving and caring husband of 62 years, Robert Conner, Sr.; sons, Robbie Conner, Tim Conner and wife Alisa; daughters, Angela Conner Saunders and husband Tim; Christy Conner Davidson and husband Jay; grandchildren, Ryan Conner, Melissa Long and husband David, Matt Saunders, Somer Saunders, Dylan Davidson, Trevor Davidson; great- grandchildren, Zoey Conner, Brentley Long; sister Donnie Quinn and niece Melinda Westall. A funeral Service will be held 2 pm on Thursday at Ridge Baptist Church - 3818 Old York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Chester Waters. The family will receive friends 5:30 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd. Gastonia. Interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Gaston Hospice and Metrolina Nephology Associates for their support.
