Hazel Anita  Bradshaw Hawkins, 60, of Bessemer City, passed peacefully in her sleep after a lengthy illness, on Friday, July 2, 2021, at her home.

She was born on December 12, 1960, in Gaston County, to the late Hazel Gamewell Bradshaw and Virginia Mae Barrett Bradshaw.

Hazel loved writing poetry and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her sisters, Rita Barber and Gail Henson.

Left to cherish Hazel's memories are her longtime companion, Randy Barnes; son, Adam Sahms and wife Ashley; daughters, Ginny Sahms and fiancé, Jeff Tinker, Blair Hawkins ; brothers, Waverly Bradshaw, Barrett Bradshaw; sister, Sheila Ivey; grandchildren, Miranda Moore, Aiden Moore, Madelyn Horne, Landon Guthrie, Breanna Tinker, Hunter Sahms; special cousin, Debbie Porter.

A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Richard Christopher, will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Laurel Wood Ministry – 124 Gamble Loop Rd., Bessemer City, NC 28016.

The family will receive friends at the church an hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Laurel Wood Ministry – 124 Gamble Loop Rd., Bessemer City, NC 28016.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service.
