Hazel Johnson Ewing

Hazel Johnson Ewing, 85, of Gastonia, NC, passed away May 5, 2022, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.  She was born September 4, 1936, in Rock Castle Co., KY, and was the daughter of the late Stanley Johnson and Ida Abney Johnson.

Hazel loved God, her family, talking, gardening, and her fur babies.  She was known for saying, "there are givers and takers", and she was a giver.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin, Calvin, Johnny, Allen, Olen, George, Byron, and Paul Johnson; sister, Eva Johnson; grandson, Paul Kepto.

She is survived by her son, George Ewing; daughter, Becky Kepto; brother, David Lawrence Johnson; grandchildren, Audra, Byron, and Katie Ewing, Mike and Paul Kepto; great grandchildren, Chris, Nick, and Brooklyn Roland, Katlyn and Charlie Cline, Michael Paul Tucker, Savannah, Shain and Calvin Kepto, McKayla, Madison, Byron and Marya Ewing, Michael, Matthew and Mattie Proctor; great great granddaughter, Ava Roland; a number of nieces and nephews.
