Hazel Champion

Hazel Champion, 86, of Bessemer City, passed away November 4, 2021, at her home.

She was born October 8, 1935, in Banks County, Georgia, daughter of the late Fred Westmoreland and Edna Hawkins Westmoreland.

Hazel was a member of Beech Avenue Baptist Church .

She loved to read her bible and loved the Lord.

One of her most precious moments was spending time with her grandchildren.

She enjoyed photography and going shopping.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, November 8, 2021, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Jeff Cooke.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

Hazel is survived by her daughters, Melody Todd and Rosita Shirley; six  grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Champion; daughter, Elaine Champion.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, Gastonia.
