Havis Gunn Hale

Havis Gunn Hale, 94, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, at Carolina Care Center, Cherryville, NC.

She was born March 19, 1928, of Cornelia, GA, daughter of the late Oscar L. and Viola King Gunn.

Havis was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church, Gastonia, where she was involved in the church activities. She loved spending time with her family and friends, gardening, sitting on her porch, and keeping her yard and house clean.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Benny D. Hale; daughter-in-law, Ann Hale; brothers, Bobbie Gunn, Roy Lee Gunn, David Gunn, Donnie Gunn, Billie Gunn, and Eddie Gunn; and grandchild, Robbie Lathern Hale.

Havis is survived by her son, Larry K. Hale; brother, Charles Gunn; sister, Linda Beckham; grandchildren, Hank Allen Hale (Rowena), Laura Hale Black (W. Douglas), Tony Darrell Hale (Reneé), and Jeffrey Mark Hale (Anita); and great-grandchildren, R.J. Hale, Tiffany Hale, Kirsten Rutkowski (Vinne), Nick Hale, Angel Hale, Will Black, Matt Black, and Benjamin Hale; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Lewis Gunn, Jr., will be held 2pm on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
