Harvey Chandler

Gastonia, NC Harvey Chandler, age 50, passed away September 22, 2012, at his home. He was born July 9, 1962 in Gastonia, son of Margie M. Parton Gates Chandler and the late, Hugh Dorsey Chandler. A funeral service will be held 3pm on Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Doug James and Pastor Earl Payne. The family will receive friends 2-3 pm prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. The interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. In addition to his mother, he is survived by: daughter, Kristin Danielle Pope; brothers, Steve Chandler, Roger Dale Gates; sisters, Vivian Ramey, Teresa James, Ruth Chandler; 3 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by: brother, Kenneth R. Gates; grandparents, John Holder Parton, Bertha Lou Parton, Matthew and Lizzie Strickland Chandler. Memorials may be made to Chapel Grove Baptist Church, Honduras Mission Fund, 716 Camp Rotary Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.
