Harold "Wayne" Moore

April 11, 1943 — January 12, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harold "Wayne" Moore, a beloved husband, talented artist, and master jeweler, who left us peacefully on January 12, 2026, at the age of 82. Wayne was born on April 11, 1943, in Lafayette, Indiana and settled in Gastonia, North Carolina, where he made a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Wayne was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, and his artistic talents shone bright throughout his life. He had a passion for the arts-whether it was carving, painting, or drawing, Wayne always found a way to express his creativity. He also had a love for music, particularly playing the guitar, which brought him joy and relaxation.

As a master jeweler, Wayne owned three jewelry stores, Moore's Jewelers, Glory Jewelers, and Celtic Jewelers, where he shared his skill and passion for crafting beautiful pieces with the community. His dedication to his craft earned him the admiration of many loyal customers and friends.

Wayne was a cherished member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and made many meaningful connections within his church community.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Gloria Moore, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Wayne was also survived by his children, Frank W Haskins (LeeAnn), Helen Hamacher, Mark A Haskins (Guinn), Catherine Buckles, Michael Haskins, and David Haskins (Jacqueline); 27 granchildren; numerous great granchildren; sisters, Delores Schnarr, Vivian Garote, and Mary Ann King; brother, Clifford Moore; numerous nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by parents, Clifford D and Laura Moore; son, David Haskins; brothers, Sidney "Doyle" Moore, Roy "Jerome" Moore, and David A Moore; son in laws, Steven Buckles and Dwayne Hamacher.

Friends, family, and all who knew Wayne are invited to join us in celebrating his life. A visitation will take place on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel. The funeral service will be held the following day, Monday, January 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Afterwards, we will lay him to rest at Armstrong Cemetery.

Though we mourn his loss, we take comfort in the many memories we shared with Wayne-his kind spirit, artistic talents, and laughter will always be remembered. Rest in peace, Wayne. You will be dearly missed.
