Harold Thomas Tegue

Lowell, NC Harold Thomas Teague, age 69, passed away January 17, 2013 at Carolina Specialty Hospital, Charlotte. He was born June 14, 1943 in Huntsville, AL, son of the late John T. Teague and Leona Nolan Lay. Mr. Teague loved his family, especially his grandchidren and was lovingly known as "Poppy" in the neighborhood. He was a founding member of Oakland Memorial Baptist Church, Lowell, and an ordained Deacon at Holland Memorial Baptist Church. Harold enjoyed fishing and walking along the beach. He was a manager of Kingsway #11 in Ranlo. A funeral service will be held 3 pm on Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Mike Criswell. The family will receive friends 2-3 on Saturday at the funeral home. The interment will be at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia. He is survived by: his wife of 38 years, Phyllis Smith Teague; sons, James Carey Teague of Belmont, James Lonnie Hayden and fiancee, Rhonda Harrington of Gastonia; daughers, Penny Dawn Teague of Gastonia, Phyllis Renee Woody and husband, Donnie of Gastonia, Leona Jeanell Teague of Gastonia; sister, Linda Edwards and husband, Pete of Lowell; grandchildren, Thomas, Brittany, Kaleb, Chelsea, Lacy, Travis, Hayley, Tyler, Brad, Jasmine and Tifeny; 6 great grandchildren In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Teague.
