Lowell, NC - Harold Dean "Casey" Bumgardner died January 13, 2014. He was born February 11, 1939 youngest son of the late Raymond Floyd and Lillie May Caldwell Bumgardner. Harold was a long-time resident of Lowell, NC. He was a graduate of Lowell High School and worked for many years at the Coca Cola plant in Gastonia. He retired as Director of Custodial Services from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education. Harold was an avid golfer for many years and coordinated the greater Piedmont Invitational. He was loved by everyone, he was a wonderful cook, who enjoyed fixing meals for his family and friends. His door was always open and food on the table. We will miss Harold and he will always be in our hearts. A Celebration of Life service will be held 3:00 pm on Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel, officiated by Rev. Ray Pennell. Visitation will be held 1:30 - 2:45 pm at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be at Edgewood Cemetery, Lowell. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Shirley Bumgardner, son, Randy Bumgardner and wife, Belinda of Mt. Holly; step-son, Tony Harper and wife, Holly of Kings Mountain; step-daughters, Angie Rankin and husband, Keith of Bessemer City, Kim Jones and husband, Mark of Charlotte; brothers, Raymond Bumgardner of Gastonia, Darrell Bumgardner and wife, Joan of Gastonia; sisters, Thelma Gaston of Cramerton, Kathleen Hudspeth of Lowell; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Mercedee Goodman.
