Rev. H. "Mohawk" Paul Moore Jr.

Rev. H. "Mohawk" Paul Moore Jr., 58, of Gastonia, went home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2014 at his home.

He was born April 8, 1956 in Gaston County, son of Jewel Collins Capel and Henry Paul Moore ,Sr., and wife Lucille.

Rev. Moore was a minister over Mohawk Ministries which serves as a jail ministry. He did the Christmas card campaign for the inmates and participated in the Angel Tree ministry. "Mohawk" had a heart for winning souls for the Kingdom of God.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at Dallas Church of God, 311 South College St. Dallas, officiated by Pastor Danny Shortridge and the Rev. Jack Watts. The family will receive friends 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 South York Rd., Gastonia.

Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. In addition to his parents Rev. Moore is survived by: three children, Jeremy Moore and wife Yvonne, Joshua Taylor Ross Moore, Zena Jewel Moore; brothers and sisters, Pat Matthews and husband Gary, Brenda Duckworth and husband Arthur, Don Moore and wife Gina, Deion Martin and husband Jon, Bobbi Parton, Tim Moore and wife Heather, Stephanie Beavers and husband Randy, George Cathey; two grandchildren, Mersadie and Skyler Moore; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers in Christ, Jack Watts, Todd Gilreath , John Crawford, Larry Helms.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Rev. Ray and wife Ella Collins, Barney and Ida Moore.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
