Dr. H. Michael Keough

Dr. H. Michael Keough, 75, of Bessemer City, passed away March 23, 2013 at his home. He was born May 17, 1937 in Washington County, Vt., the son of the late Wilbor Keough and Arlene Dopp Bryant. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road, officiated by Pastor Roy Clark. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park with military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard. He actively pastored several churches during his lifetime. He started the King James Baptist Church feeding program for those in need. He had a compassionate heart to serve the people of the community. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the Hospice House of Lincoln County, especially to Jean Marie, Mari Beth Hill and Pam McConnell. Mr. Keough is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Barbara Keough; sons, Michael Thomas Keough and wife Kelli of Gastonia, William Jody Watts of Bessemer City; daughters, Gina Hutto and husband Dewayne of Gastonia, Linda Keough of Gastonia, Karen Beam and husband Charles of Gastonia, Melissa Gates and husband Wayne of Kings Mountain; Angela Peterson and husband Russell of Bessemer City, Jeanie Watts of Lincolnton, Lesley Grigg and husband Robert of Bostic; brother, Pat Keough and wife Priscilla of Rhode Island; 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandchildren, Joshua Willis and Tony Roberts; sister, Norene Keough. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
