Gwyn L. Cosby

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gwyn L. Cosby, who left this world peacefully at the age of 79 on May 24, 2025, at her home in Gastonia, North Carolina. Born on June 6, 1945, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Gwyn lived a life marked by devotion, love, and an unwavering commitment to her family.

Gwyn was a cherished wife to Robert "Bob" Cosby, who will forever treasure their time together. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Doreen Massey (Mike) and brother-in-law Roger Cosby. Throughout her life, Gwyn found joy in simple pleasures—whether it was sharing a meal of her beloved Mexican cuisine or enjoying a spirited evening of bowling. Her love for her cats brought her immeasurable happiness, and she was a lifelong advocate for their care.

For the past decade, Gwyn attended the Life Enrichment Center in Kings Mountain, where she embraced a community that nurtured her spirit and allowed her to connect with others. Her zest for life and the warmth she extended to those around her will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 PM at Greene Funeral Service - West Chapel, located at 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052. Loved ones and friends are invited to join in celebrating Gwyn's life and the cherished memories they hold dear.

As we reflect on Gwyn's life, we are reminded of her kindness, her laughter, and the love she poured into every relationship. She will be missed deeply but carried in the hearts of many. May she rest in peace.

Gwyn was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Norma Lange; daughter, Michelle Cosby; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Ida Cosby; and brother-in-law, Jim Cosby.
