Gustava (Gus) Adair White, 92, of Gastonia joined our Heavenly Father peacefully on October 17, 2018 at CaroMont surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Grigg Adair and Margie Weaver Adair. In addition to her parents, Mrs. White was proceeded in death by her husband of over 50 years, William (Bill) Charles White, sister, Billie Sue Adair Robinson and brother-in-law, Reverend Robert (Bob) H. Robinson, sister, Mary Catherine (Cat) Adair White and brother-in-law, Robert D White.
Mrs. White is survived by her loving daughter, Julie White Holland and husband Randy of Myrtle Beach, SC, nephews, Tip Robinson (Sally) of Greer, SC and Dr. J. Scott Robinson (Cathy) of Hammond, Louisiana, three great-nieces, one great-nephew, two great-great-nephews and one great-great-niece.
Mrs. White was an avid reader who loved to work crossword puzzles in ink. She loved her beloved companion Lucky who never left her side. Although a private pure southern lady, she had a heart of gold and always had a kindhearted positive uplifting word for those around her. She was always a glass half full type of person.
A graveside celebration of life will be held at Gaston Memorial Park, Sunday at 2:00 p.m. for family and friends. Her nephew, Dr. Scott Robinson will be officiating the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Disabled American Veterans National Foundation, 4601 Forbes Blvd., Suite 130, Lanham, MD 20706, or memorial of your choice.
The South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia is serving the family of Mrs. White.
