Grant Franklin Kester

Grant Franklin Kester, 79, passed away April 28, 2022, at Atrium Health – Main in Charlotte, NC.

He was born September 11, 1942, a native of Gaston Co., to the late Frank Hunter and Florence Rayfield Kester.

Grant loved the outdoors – hunting, fishing, building, and restoring cars. He loved bluegrass music – especially playing the banjo. He loved his dogs.

In addition to his parents, Grant was preceded in death by his sisters, Sarah Gossett, and Rita Evitt and her husband Charles.

Grant is survived by his wife, Susie Jordan Kester; son, Randall Scott Kester; daughters, Jill Kester Snowdon (Mark Elliot Snowdon), Amy Kester-Havens (Jean Elizabeth Havens), and Mary Munzell (Adrian); grandchildren, Grant Kester, Ashley Masters, Rachel Kester, Pierce Snowdon, Nathaniel Snowdon, and Makenzie Snowdon.; and five great-grandchildren and special friend Mike Jennings.

A graveside service officiated by Rev. Ron Duncan, will be held 3pm on Monday, May 2, 2022, at Hollywood cemetery, Gastonia, NC.
