Grant E. Ensley

Gastonia, NC Grant E. Ensley, 83, on August 27, 2013, was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his Homecoming to Heaven. He was born November 30, 1929 in Andrews, NC, son of the late Dock and Bessie Clayton Ensley. Mr. Ensley loved his family very much, was a great Christian role model and will be loved and missed by his family until they see him in Heaven. He was a faithful member of Davis Memorial Baptist Church, Gastonia, where he was a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Usher and sang in the Choir. Grant loved to play golf, and was very good at it, having had two hole-in-ones after the age of 70. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on Friday at Davis Memorial Baptist Church, Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Larry McAllister and Pastor Ronnie Griffie. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. He is survived by: his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara Ensley; son, Donnie Ensley and wife, Darlene of Gastonia; daughter, Wanda Cordell and husband, Blair of Gastonia; sister, Naomi Wiggins of Washington State; grandson, Jason Grant Cordell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters. Memorials may be made to Davis Memorial Baptist Church, 3358 Robinwood Rd., Gastonia, NC 28054.
