Grant "Shakey" Conner, 72, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas.
He was born in Caldwell County on September 30, 1951, to the late James Conner and Mama Mary Conner.
Grant was a member of Catawba Heights Baptist Church in Belmont. He served in the US Army. He loved his family, church family and his fur baby Ringo. He enjoyed riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Ellen Horne Conner; son, Scott Conner (Amy); brothers, Grady Conner, Wayne Conner (Renee); grandchildren, Victoria Michelle Townsend (Josh), Brandon Scott Conner (Taylor), Eric Grant Conner; great-grandchildren, William Townsend, Warren Townsend.
A Celebration of Life, officiated by Pastor Raymond Johns, will be held Saturday, December 9, 2023, 12:00 noon, at Catawba Heights Baptist Church, 311 Belmont Mt. Holly Rd., Belmont, NC 28012.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
