Grady "Bunk" Stokes

Grady "Bunk" Stokes, 73, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at his residence.

He was born May 13, 1949, in Gaston Co, NC, son of the late Grady Coleman and Alma Ellis Stokes.

Grady was an upstanding, fair, gentleman. He loved his family and loved his dog. He also loved racing, Carolina Basketball, and ESPN classics.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy, Raymond, and Larry Stokes; sisters, Ruth Simonds, and Paulene Bond; and girlfriend, Patricia Davis.

Grady is survived by his son, Greg Stokes; sister, Oma Lee Armstrong; grandchild, Gregory Tyler Stokes; and 2 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. Sam Barnette, will be held 2pm on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Entombment will be held at Westview Gardens Mausoleum, Bessemer City, NC.
