Gloria Jean Mills

Gloria Jean Mills, 66, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at Accordius Health, Gastonia, NC.

She was born May 27, 1955, in Richmond Co, NC, daughter of the late Jesse Benjamin Mills and Helen Cash Mills.

She was a graduate of East Gaston High School, Mount Holly, NC; Wingate College (now Wingate University); and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Gloria was a member of Providence United Methodist Church, Charlotte. She loved knitting, quilting, and reading.

She is survived by her sons, Matthew Smith, and Eugene Givens, III; daughter, Sarah Smith Wilson; brothers, Kenneth Mills (Lorena), and Jesse "Ben" Mills, Jr. (Donna); sister, Lucinda Woodward (Randy); and 2 grandchildren.

A very special thank you to her cousin, Sharon Brower, for your loyalty.

A graveside service, officiated by Rev. Sherman Branch, will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 30, 2022 in the mausoleum at Hillcrest Gardens, Mount Holly, NC.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the mausoleum.
