Gloria Ann Avent

Gloria Ann Avent, 81, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023, at her residence.

She grew up in the mountains of Tennessee, a descendant of Daniel Boone and Leonard Shoun. She was born August 05, 1941, to Gloria June Miller and Howard Spencer Fritts.

Gloria's mother died when she was seven years old. She grew up in foster care at a Tennessee Children's home, where she was a nanny taking care of the younger children. In her mid-twenties she left to go to Florida with her late brother, Howard Lee Fritts; and late sister, Judy Prease Fritts, where she lived until coming to North Carolina in 1998. She had a good kind heart that would do anything for anyone, she never complained about anything, and would never ask a soul for help. She loved seek and find puzzles, and books of all kinds. She lived a good life and will truly be deeply missed by everyone that knew her and the hearts she touched. Heaven has another angel - God Bless you Gloria.

She is survived by Katherine Coleman, Dana Rae Fritts, Norma Gilley, Stephanie Vanhuss, Patricia Vanhuss, and Cameron Vanhuss.
