Glenna "Jodie" Murphy

Blacksburg, SC Glenna "Jodie" Murphy, 70, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Kings Mountain Hospital. She was born September 4, 1942 in Lowell, daughter of the late Flay and Dot Helderman Jackson. Mrs. Murphy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who loved crocheting, dollhouses, gardening and was a musician. She was a member of Enon Road Baptist Church. A celebration of Jodie's life will be held 1 pm on Saturday at Gaston Memorial Park Mausoleum, Gastonia, officiated by rev. Chris Ballard. The family will receive friends noon to 1pm on Saturday, prior to the service at the mausoleum. She is survived by: her loving husband of 14 years, David R. Murphy Sr.; sons and daughters in-law, Bobby and Martha Briand, Ronny and Justice Briand; brothers, Bob, Scott and Rodney Jackson; sisters, Hilda "Cookie" Gilman, Deborah McKinney; grandchildren, Robert, Amber, Jean-Luc, Stephen, Christopher, Dwayne, Keaton and Taylor; great grandchildren, Ethen and Elizabeth; best friend, Lynda Hendrix; beloved dog, Chico.
