Glenn Wood

January 28, 1946 — October 15, 2021

Glenn E. Wood, 75, of Gastonia, passed away October 15, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

A native of Royston, GA, Glenn was born January 28, 1946, to the late Clarence Wood and Kathryn Adams Wood.

Mr. Wood was a member of Zion Baptist Church for Over 47 years.

He was a good Christian man who loved the Lord.

He was a devoted husband, great father, grandfather, and brother.

Glenn loved his grandchildren greatly, and he loved helping and doing things for others

He enjoyed telling jokes and making others laugh.

One of his favorite past times was fishing and going on fishing trips.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Walt and Dennis; and his sister, Patricia.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Judy Wood; daughters, Peggy Summitt and husband Jeff, Diana Shipman and husband Todd, Michelle White and husband Jamie; son, Scott Wood and wife Lori; brother, Darrell Wood and wife Janice; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Leo Kuykendall and Pastor Ronnie Dale, will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 19, at Zion Baptist Church, 2437 Propst St, Gastonia.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Baptist Church Building Fund, 2437 Propst St., Gastonia, NC 28056.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
