Glenn Bynum Splawn

Glenn Bynum Splawn, 75, of Bessemer City, passed away on January 4, 2016, at Carolinas Healthcare System Kings Mountain.

He was born March 23, 1940, in Rutherford County, son of the late Horace Leroy Splawn and Onie Mae Poteat Splawn.

Mr. Splawn was a member of Tryon Optimist Club.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Steve Wright.

The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7: 00 Thursday, at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Bessemer City Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Splawn is survived by his sons, Randy Splawn and wife, Lori, Steve Splawn and wife, Lisa, Scott Splawn and wife, Melanie, Brad Splawn and wife, Tommi; brothers, Dan, Harry and Talmadge Splawn; sister, Becky Mauney; grandchildren, Adrian Splawn, Shannon Hampton and husband, Chad, Joshua, Zak, Luke, Logan and Jessica Splawn, Kristina Bradley, Zack Bradley and wife, Amber; great grandchild, Ryder Hampton.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, brothers, Clyde, Boyd and Bruce Splawn; sisters, Peggy Jenkins and Patricia Phillips.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
