Glenn Mitchell Burgin, 93, of Gastonia, passed away on January 1, 2018 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.
He was born August 26, 1924 in McDowell County, the son of the late Alphonso Burgin and Freddie Gillam Burgin.
Glenn was a United States Army Air Corps WWII Veteran. He was a former member of Yorkwood Church of God. Glenn was also the former owner operator of Tire City and Auto Center Equipment in Gastonia.
Glenn is survived by his daughter, Shelia Laws and husband, Ronnie of Ranlo; grandson, Darrell Laws and wife, Lisa of Maiden, Michael Laws of Ranlo; great-grandchildren Cristin Laws, Christal Goins and husband, Jesse, DJ Laws Jr.; great-great-grandchildren Alexeas Laws and Alexander Goins; and nephews, Shannon Edwards, Robert and Craig Lewis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Burgin; one brother and 7 sisters.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Entombment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
