It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Glenda Wilson Rumney, who left us peacefully on June 17, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on April 11, 1948, in Gaston County, North Carolina, Glenda cherished her roots and built a beautiful life in Bessemer City and Gastonia, where she touched the hearts of many in the community. She was a 1966 Graduate from Hunter Huss High School. She retired from the City of Bessemer City.
Glenda was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had an infectious love for singing, often filling her home with the timeless melodies of Patsy Cline and Barbra Streisand. Her passion for creativity shone through in her love of scrapbooking, where she crafted memories that her family will treasure forever. She had a soft spot for baking, often whipping up delicious treats that brought smiles to the faces of her loved ones.
Glenda enjoyed exploring the beauty of the world around her, from the serene beaches to the majestic mountains. But above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Mark Dockery (Crystal), Tiffany Beaver (John), Stacy Henderson (Jon), and Chad Rumney (Misty); grandchildren, Alex Harwell, Ryan Beaver (Ashley), Brandon Henderson (Stephanie), Nathan Henderson, Hunter Dockery, Kayla Coons (Nathan), Kaitlyn Rumney, and Kendall Rumney; great granddaughter, Norah Jean Beaver; brother, Steve Wilson (Connie); sister in law, Cynthia Lynn (Jeff); nieces and nephew, Greg Wilson, Melody Swift (Tommy), and April Franks (Pat).
Glenda was preceded in death by husband, Kenneth Rumney; parents, Ernest and Hazel Wilson; brother, Larry Wilson.

There will be a visitation held prior to the service, starting at 12:00 PM. Following the service, Glenda will be reunited with her husband at Bessemer City Cemetery.
We will remember Glenda for her warmth, her laughter, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
