Gladys Davis England, 89, of 314 S. Ransom St. Gastonia, passed away Wednesday, July 18th, at Gaston Memorial Hospital. She was born August 31, 1922 in Gaston County, daughter of the late W. D. and Bessie Arrowood Davis. Mrs. England was a member of Westview Baptist Church, Gastonia. She was a retired church pianist and music teacher. A funeral service will be held 4 pm on Sunday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC, officiated by Rev. Jerry Millwood and Rev. Joe Hensley. The family will receive friends 3-4 pm prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hollywood Cemetery, Gastonia. She is survived by: her husband of 68 years, Rev. Ray England; son and daughter in-law, Curtis and Patricia England; daughter and son in-law, Kay and Tim Lawrence; grandchildren, Stefani Hungate, Patrick Camp; great grandchild, Kayla Hungate. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: grandchild, Jamie Camp; brothers, Harry, Joe, Ernie, Ralph and Bill Davis; sisters, Jenny Collins, Valeria Clause, Azaleen Lowdermilk.
