Gilbert "Allen" Penley

Gilbert "Allen" Penley, 70, of Iron Station, NC, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023, at Atrium Health Lincoln.

He was born April 22, 1953, in Gaston Co, NC, son of the late Gilbert Lee and Bernice Holland Penley.

Allen was a US Air Force Veteran. He retired from Freightliner after 30 years and was a UAW member. Allen loved his dog Charlie, hot rods, and motorcycles.

He is survived by his loving wife for almost 30 years, Tonya Penley; son, Michael Penley and fiancé, Nicole; stepsons, Chris Keener (Roberta), and Wayne Bristol and fiancé, Shannon; sisters, Sharon Penley Bryant (Clifford, Jr.), Susan Penley Huntsinger (Ronald), and Nita Penley Harbin (Keith); and grandchildren, Ray, Gabriel, Gavyn, Sierra, Caleb, Austin, and Kailey.

The family will receive friends 6-8pm, Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

A graveside service officiated by Rev. Ricky McDowell with military honors by USAF, will be held 9am, Thursday, at Salisbury National Cemetery Annex - 501 Statesville Blvd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
