Gettys B. Jones

Gettys B. Jones, 83, of Kings Mountain, passed away on April 26, 2015 at his home He was born December 28, 1931 in Gaston County, son of the late Otis G. Jones Sr. and Irene Good Jones. Mr. Jones was a member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church for over 40 years, where he served as a deacon. He was employed with the Rex Mills for 25 years. He enjoyed going camping and loved spending time with his family. A funeral service will be held 11:00 Wednesday at Chapel Grove Baptist Church, 716 Camp Rotary Road Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Roger Overton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be at Walnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Dallas. Mr. Jones is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Dorothy "Dot" Jones of the home; daughters, Susan Lunsford and husband Jackie of Bessemer City, Kim Henderson and husband Danny of Gastonia; grandchildren, Barry Totherow, Anna Henderson, Tonya Allred, Tracy Cagle; great- grandchildren, Barron , Josie, Aubrey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brother, Otis Jones Jr. Memorials may be sent to Chapel Grove Baptist Church 716 Camp Rotary Road Gastonia, NC 28052. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
