Gertrud Davis

Gastonia, NC Gertrud Davis, 82, passed away November 7, 2013 at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House, Charlotte, NC. She was born May 16, 1931 in Studguard, Germany, daughter of the late Herman and Emma Rhyme Dick. Mrs. Davis was a member of Soul's Harbor Tabernacle, Gastonia. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower garden. A funeral service will be held 11 am on Saturday at Soul's Harbor Tabernacle, Gastonia, officiated by Pastor James Chambers. The family will receive friends 6 to 8:30 pm on Friday at the church. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont. She is survived by: her sons, John Wesley Davis and spouse, Marsha, Paul Eaton Davis and spouse, Sabrina all of Gastonia; daughter, Romonna Davis Clements and her spouse, Chuck of Gastonia; grandchildren, Shannon, Sharon, Sarah, Patrick, Matthew; great grandson, Dylan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Davis; son, Michael Alexander Davis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Soul's Harbor Tabernacle, Building Fund, 271 Camp Rotary Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.
