Geraldean "Jerrie" Ray

Geraldean "Jerrie" Ray, 83, of Gastonia passed away June 18, 2018 at Alexandria Place.

She was born on July 6, 1934, a native of Gaston County, the daughter of the late Harry Odell Ray and Daisy Sexton Ray.

Jerrie was a member of Linwood Presbyterian Church where she also played the piano.  She was a beautiful singer and a member of a back-up band for mainstream country singers.  She loved singing, yodeling and participating in Karaoke.

She is survived by her children, Lynne Hastedt, Clayton Parrott and wife Patti, Jay Parrott and wife Terri, Ray Parrott and wife Kim; sister, Doris Terry and husband Richard; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry "Richard" Ray.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Kevin Lee Kellough, will be held 2 pm Friday, June 22, 2018 at Greene Funeral Service -  South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
