Gerald David Thompson

Gerald David Thompson, 81, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017 at his residence.   He was born November 28, 1935 in Robeson County NC and was the son of the late B.C. and Annie Winder.

Gerald was a Veteran of the US Army National Guard and he attended Lincolnton Church of God.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Whistnant Thompson; daughter, Tammy Thompson Wray; grandchildren, Gerald L. McMahan, Wesley M. McMahan and William Reece.

Left to cherish his memories are, Ronnie Thompson Sr. and wife Angie, Mike Forbis and wife Judy, Karen Reece and husband Chris, Sandra McMahan and husband Louis; grandchildren, Ronnie Thompson Jr., Lindsey Spence, Christina Brown, David Myers, Jennifer Biddix; 5 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S York Rd. Gastonia NC.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Lincolnton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
