George Truett Wray

George Truett Wray, 84, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, at his residence.

He was born in Gaston County on August 28, 1940, to the late Odell and Joy Wray.

George was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed golfing.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Huffman Wray, brothers, Glen, Gary and Daniel Wray.

George is survived by his daughters, Derita Johnson, Gerita Penley (Ed); grandchildren, April Isaacs, Casey Fowler-Perkins (Rob), Dustin Miller (Jessica), Brooke Blecher (Adam), Brandon Penley (Lexie); great-grandchildren, A.J. Taylor, Asia Taylor, Dekota Fowler, Destiny Fowler, Landon Miller, Devin Fowler, Lucas Miller, Oliver Blecher.

A private service to honor George will be held by the family.
