George "Bill" William Hall

George "Bill" William Hall, 83, of Kings Mountain, passed away April 23, 2014, at his home. He was born July 5, 1930 in Halifax County, VA son of the late George and Clara Tuck Hall. Mr. Hall was a watch repairman for 56 years and was last employed at Morris Jewelers. George was a member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon, teacher and training union director. He was a member of Masonic Lodge # 369, Gaston County Shrine Club and was a chaplain, and past patron of the Eastern Star. He was a disabled Korean War Army veteran. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday at Chapel Grove Baptist Church, 716 Camp Rotary Road, Gastonia. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Roger Overton and Rev. Floyd Helms. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. George is survived by: his loving wife of 53 years Kay Hall; son, William Blair Hall and wife Jill of Kings Mountain; daughter, Vonda Kay Covington and husband Jim of Marshville, NC; "adopted daughter", Debra Horrocks Church and husband T.C.;brothers, Morris Hall and wife Vonne, Phillip Hall all of Gastonia; grandchildren, Casey and Cameron Hall, Lindsay Greene, Katie Covington; great grandchildren, Kloie and Bryson Greene. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: sister, Helen Brown. Memorials may be sent to Gaston Hospice P.O. Box 3984 Gastonia, NC 28054 or Shriners Hospital for Children - Greenville, 950 West Faris Road Greenville, SC 29605. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
