George Dillard Rolland, Jr.

George Dillard Rolland, Jr., 61, of Dallas, passed away September 1, 2014, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. He was born a native of Gaston County, August 23, 1953 son of Melvine and the late George D. Rolland, Sr. George was a member of the Community Pentecostal Center, Stanley. He was an avid fisherman. A funeral service will be held 3 pm on Friday at Community Pentecostal Center, 320 Ralph Handsel Blvd., Stanley, NC, officiated by Pastor Eddie McGinnis. Visitation will be 2 - 2:45 pm on Friday prior to the visitation at the church. Interment will be in Westview Gardens. In addition to his mother, George is survived by his daughter, Sandra Ng and husband, Hayden; brothers, Jimmy Rolland and Ronnie Rowland; sisters, Diane Carver and Tammy Stafford; grandchildren,David Lee,Jessica Martin,Tina and Nikki Thompson and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Rolland, father, brother, Bert Rowland, and son-in-law, Robert David Thompson, Jr. Arrangements are with Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
