George Robert Pender, Jr.

George Robert Pender, Jr, 65, of Gastonia, passed away at the Levine Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC on October 26, 2020.

He was born on June 18, 1955 in Berlin, Germany, to Dagmar "Omi" Liebsch Pender and the late George Robert "Bobby" Pender, Sr.

George was a member of First Assembly of God, Gastonia.  He loved to ride his Harley and to work on jigsaw puzzles.  He was retired from Specialty Machine, Gastonia.

In addition to his father, George was preceded in death by his daughter, Nanettie Gardner.

He is survived by his mother, Dagmar "Omi" Liebsch Pender; wife, Wendy Spencer Pender; sister, Debbie Jackson; brother, Ricky Robinson; sons, Marcus Pender and wife Maeranda Dorn Pender and Jonathan Thornburg; grandchildren, Jordan, Dyllan, and Emogene Pender; brother-in-law, Paul Spencer and wife, Denise; and numerous nephews and cousins.

A memorial service, officiated by Pastors Dennis Boyce and Lamar Creel, will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at 12:00 pm at First Assembly of God, 777 Myrtle School Road, Gastonia, NC.

The family will receive friends after the service at the church until 1:30 pm.

Inurnment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, escorted by friends and family on motorcycles.
