George Lewis, Jr.

Charlotte, NC - George Lewis Jr., 87, of Charlotte, NC, entered into his heavenly home Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Harris Hospice Presbyterian Novant.

He was born May 26, 1936, in Aurora, IL son of the late June and George Lewis Sr. He was preceded in death by his brother Jack Lewis; step-son Bill Holland; and step-grandson Jonathan Christopher Holland.

George loved music, family, and working on his extensive collection of classic model cars. He was a former member of First Baptist Church Cramerton and was currently attending First Baptist Church Mount Holly.

He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Nancy, son Dennis Lewis (Diana) of Bluff City, TN and daughter Belinda Lewis of Bristol, TN. He is also survived by his stepchildren: Jym Holland (Vicki), Bob Holland (Denise), Andy Holland (Cathy), Donna Branham (Henry) and daughter-in-law Judy Rice. George has 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Carson Branham and Rev. Andy Holland will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Gaston Community Church, 400 Airport Rd. Gastonia NC.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
