George Cecil Estes Jr.

George Cecil Estes Jr., 93, of Kings Mountain, passed away January 2, 2023, at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

He was born November 7, 1929, in Chester County, SC, son of the late George Cecil Estes Sr. and Millie Edwards Estes.

George retired from WSOC after 38 years of service where he worked as an engineer. He had a passion for woodworking, fishing and he enjoyed working in his yard.

A Celebration of George's life will be held Noon, Sunday, January 15, 2023, at New Life Family Worship Center 428 Oak Grove Road Kings Mountain, officiated by Pastor Robert Eng.

George is survived by his son-in-law, Fred Sisk; cousins, Betty Smith of Monroe, Carolyn K. Bell of Gastonia; his beloved dog, Silas.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Estelle Cavney Estes; son, Eddie Estes; daughter, Rene Sisk.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, Gastonia.
