George Nelson Carroll Jr.

George Nelson Carroll Jr., 76, of Bessemer City, passed away February 13, 2024, at his home.

He was born November 18, 1947, in Cleveland County, son of the late George Nelson Carroll Sr. and Mary Sue Weaver Carroll.

He had worked for Wix Corporation for 36 years.

He loved to hunt, fish and shoot pool. He enjoyed taking trips to the mountains and going camping.

George loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had a good heart, and he never met a stranger and was always willing to have a conversation with anyone.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

George is survived by his son, Mark Carroll; daughter, Angela "Angie" Parsley; brothers, Arthur Carroll, Phillip Carroll; sister, Dottie Adkins; five grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Dixon Carroll; his sons, George Carroll III, John Carroll; granddaughter, Kailey Carroll; sister, Cathy Bridges.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service located at 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia.
