Genevie Philbeck Hunter

Newton, NC Genevie Philbeck Hunter, age 76, passed away October 13, 2013 at Abernethy Laurels, Newton, NC. She was born April 23, 1937 in Lincoln County, NC, daughter of the late David and Nellie Smith Philbeck. Genevie was past president of the Zodiak Club, Charlotte, for the years, 1980, 81, 96 thru 2003. She was an avid championship bowler. A funeral service will be held 12 Noon on Friday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. The family will receive friends 11 - 11:45 am on Friday at the funeral home. The interment will follow the service on Friday at Hillcrest Gardens, Mt. Holly. She is survived by: daughters, Shea Hunter of High Point, Leslie Hunter and her husband, Bobby of Sherrills Ford; grandchildren, Anna Hunter, Holly Hunter of Sherrills Ford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Loyd Philbeck. Memorials may be made to Abernethy Laurels, 102 Leonard Ave., Newton, NC 28658.
