Gene Norman, 84, of Dallas, made his journey home November 23, 2016 at his residence.
He was born June 8, 1932 in Cleveland County, the son of the late Johnny Florida Norman and Jessie Montgomery Norman.
Gene was a member of Independent Baptist Tabernacle in Dallas. He retired from Freightliner after 16 years of service. He enjoyed working on cars and loved his family.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife for over 21 years, Sally Bell Norman; sons Ricky and wife Brenda Norman, Larry and wife Teresa Norman, Eric and wife Jennifer Norman; daughter Lynn and husband Frank Atkins; step-daughters Theresa and husband Lynn Abercrombie, Rayetta and Husband Lee Elrod, Sonya Bramlett; brother Eddie and wife Sissy Norman; sister Ann Costner; 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers James, Andy and Melvin Norman; sister Ruth Wilhelm and step-son Bob Bramlett.
The family will receive friends 6 – 8 pm Friday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC.
A funeral service, officiated by the Revs. Ralph Carver, Michael Spargo and Brian Spargo will be held 1 pm Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Independent Baptist Tabernacle, 2128 Dallas-Cherryville Highway, Dallas, NC 28034.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
