Gaynell Anderson Treece, of Gastonia, passed away September 11, 2022, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

She was born August 30, 1937, in Robbinsville, NC, daughter of the late Norman Early Anderson and Birdie Hazel Mack Anderson.

Gaynell was a dutiful Christian, faithful wife, loving mother, and grandmother. Adventurous in heart, she worked as hard as she played and loved being out in the world and getting into anything she could, often dragging others kicking and screaming right along with her.

Gaynell was a woman of family, the bedrock strong and steadfast. She and Marvin cultivated and created a wonderful blossoming family that continues to grow and love. The glue that held everything together, she put the bonds in place that will continue to hold. She fiercely loved and protected family, which also included her parrots, dogs, peacocks, plants and anything/anyone she took under her wing.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, officiated by Dr. Dennis Gomez.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.

Gaynell is survived by her children, Rickey Treece, Roger Dale Treece and wife, Debra, Linda Treece, Sandra McAlister, Donnie Head and husband, Gene; brother, Willard Anderson and wife Lure; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great- grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and her loving bird "Baby".

In addition to her parents, Gaynell was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Marvin Randolph Treece; grandsons, Ethan Camby, Christopher Treece; brothers, Robert and Howard Anderson; sister, Ella Mae Waldt; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Treece; sons-in-law, Lee Camby, Kent Upton, Robert McAlister.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, Gastonia.
